SMC gas meter box production process

1. Preparation of raw materials:

SMC sheet: Select Sheet Molding Compound that meets the requirements of gas meter boxes, and must have corrosion resistance, aging resistance, flame retardant and other characteristics.

Other materials: such as sealant strips and metal parts, which are easy to install and maintain. (hinges, locks, etc.).

2. mold preparation

Mold design: Design the mold according to the size and functional requirements of the gas meter box to ensure that the box structure is reasonable and easy to install and maintain.

Mold preheating: Heat the mold to a suitable temperature (usually 140°℃-160°℃) to ensure adequate flow and solidification of the SMC material

3. compression molding

Cutting SMC sheet: Cut SMC sheet according to mold size.

Charging: Place the cut SMC sheet into a preheated mold.

Hot pressing forming: The SMC sheet is formed in a mold at high temperature (140℃-160 ℃) and high pressure (10-20MPa). The curing time is from a few minutes to ten minutes, and the specific time depends on the thickness and size of the box.

4. cooling and demoulding

Cooling: The molded box is cooled in the mold to a suitable temperature (usually below 60℃).

Demoulding: Remove the formed gas meter box from the mold.

5. post-processing

Trim: Remove excessive parts such as burrs and burrs.

Drilling: Drilling holes are drilled on the box body according to design requirements for installing watches, pipes and accessories.

Surface treatment: Polishing, painting or other surface treatment to improve appearance quality and weather resistance.

6. Assembly

Installation accessories: Install hinges, locks, sealing strips and other accessories.

Installation of functional components: Install gas meter brackets, pipe interfaces, etc. as required.

7. quality inspection

Appearance inspection: Check whether the surface of the box is smooth, free from cracks, bubbles and other defects.

size inspection: Ensure that the box size meets the design requirements.

Flame retardant test: Test the flame retardant performance of the box to ensure that it meets the safety standards of the gas meter box.

Airtightness test: Test the sealing performance of the box to ensure that it is waterproof and dustproof.

8. packaging and warehousing
